  • Kattsov, V.M., G.A. Alekseev, T.V. Pavlova, P.V. Sporyshev, R.V. Bekryaev, V.A. Govorkova, 2007: Modeling the evolution of the World Ocean ice cover in the 20th and 21st centuries. Izvestia of Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics of Atmosphere and Ocean, 43.

The state of the art is considered of modelling sea ice cover as a component of the new generation of global climate models. Model ensemble simulations are analyzed of the observed World Oceanís ice cover, including its evolution through the 20th century, and its change projections for the 21st century under three scenarios of the climate system anthropogenic forcing. Unresolved problems and priorities of sea-ice modelling are discussed.
