Abstract:
Our objectives are:

(1) to examine and model an index of vulnerability for the Mediterranean Ecosystems, this index being related to the maintenance of the ecosystemic functions in relation to the climatic changes;

(2) to include/understand the variations of this index on various space and temporal scales by studying at the same time the short-term effects of the extreme climatic events and the mechanisms of long-term acclimatization;

(3) to progress in the modelling of ecosystemic flows of carbon, by concentrating particularly on the modelling of soil respiration according to temperature, water capacity, quantity and quality of the substrate;

(4) to compare the vulnerability of various types of forest ecosystems Mediterranean with the climatic changes, on various scales of space and time.
