Characterization of the Great Plains low-level jet variability

Abstract:
We wish to compare the warm season Great Plains low-level jet variability and its precipitation impacts in the control and doubled CO2 runs of the CCSM 3 to assess the influence of global warming on the warm season central U.S. hydroclimate. This work is important for characterizing the contribution of enhanced CO2 concentrations on regional climate variability and the potential to alter the signature of future droughts and floods.
