Predictive phenology of birch in Fennoscandia

Abstract:
We require climate scenarios in order to predict the impact of climate change on the phenology of Betula species in Fennoscandia, using physiological trade-off mdels based on average and minimum temperatures. We have identified relationships between growing season length, minimum temperatures, and date of leafing and we hope to use climate scenarios to predict the impact of future climates on these trade offs.
