Dynamical downscaling of climate change scenarios to assess the impacts of climate change on the hydroclimate of Greater Horn of Africa

Abstract:
This proposed research seeks to use regional climate model(RegCM3) as a downscaling technique to understand the impacts of climate change on water resources over the Greater Horn of Africa(GHA), including the lower Nile Basin region. As such the focus is to use climate change scenarios generated by a number of IPPC models, downscale them over GHA for the assessment of impacts, vulnerability and possible adaptation to climate change over the sub-region.
