GPS Atmospheric Limb Sounding

Abstract:
We are generating climate data records from a constellation of GPS radio occultation instruments (atmospheric bending of radio signals is converted to vertical temperature profiles). We seek to understand how such measurements can be used to assess climate change. We will use model studies to inform us of expected climate change signatures. We will then be able to assess how sensitive is our data set to the expected signatures.
