Westerlies off Southern Chile

| Abstract: |
Model data will be used for a study of the interannual and interdecadal variability of the westerlies off southern Chile during the 20-century, as well as their effects on local temperatures and precipitations. Further, the impact of the westerlies on the oceanic surface circulation will be addressed. After a comparison of the models and climate data of the region, some numerical models will be chosen for a study of global change on the atmosphere and the ocean of the study area, which comprisses from 110ºW up to 90ºW, and from 60ºS up to 30ºS.
