Abstract:
I am working at the Biology Department of the Middle East Technical University to estimate effects of global change on Turkish freshwater ecosystems. Starting points are GIS models of runoff to estimate changes in river and lake hydrology, to be developed into impact models including changing salinity, nutrient levels and ecotoxicology. For this purpose, input from GCMs on basic climatic variables (mainly temperature, precipitation, pot. evaporation) is required.
