INSTRUCTIONS FOR AMIP DATA USERS
Documenting AMIP QC
If you find a problem in the
AMIP database:
Send an email to amip@pcmdi.llnl.gov describing the problem and needed correction if:
- It is only a sign/units problem
- Its a mistake in the metadata or dimension variables
- If you are sure its just plain wrong
If the problem is something that should be flagged (e.g., a bad time point, odd features, extreme outliers):
- Describe the problem in a simple text file with the following name convention - README_variable_model.txt
- Format the readme file as follows (example):
- 1st line - Model and Variable
- Problem discription
- Probable/possible cause (optional)
- Recommendation (optional)
- Date and your name
- If it helps clarify the problem, demonstrate it with a graphic (gif) with the following naming convention: variable_model.gif (example)
- Send your readme (and graphic if created) to amip@pcmdi.llnl.gov
